Rare, short right-breaking reef wave between Mindelo and Vila Chã.
Bezerro is an offshore rocky reef formation between Mindelo and Vila Chã. It produces a short right-breaking wave, generally under 50 metres, with fast-to-ordinary power. The reef and rock bottom can be hazardous because some underwater rocks nearly reach the surface. It breaks rarely, around five days per year, and is considered suitable for bodyboarding. Southwest swell and north to northwest winds are favourable, with swell beginning around 2-2.5 metres and holding at 3 metres or more.
