Barranco is a sheltered surf spot near Raposeira with waves breaking both left and right. The setup is an inconsistent sandbank and rock-bottom wave rather than a consistently defined point or beach break. It needs significant swell, working from around 1-1.5 metres and holding 2.5 metres or more. Rides are normally under 50 metres but can reach 50-150 metres on a good day. South swell is preferred, with October-May offering the more reliable surf season.
