Surf spot guide Β· Alentejo, Portugal
Sheltered Mira River-mouth beach with weak swell and soft, shifting surf.
Praia do Farol lies on the north side of the Mira River mouth in Vila Nova de Milfontes. It is sheltered and generally receives weak swell, with surf occurring relatively infrequently. The wave setup is best treated as soft, shifting inside sandbanks producing playful peaks. West swell, east wind and October-April offer the most favourable listed conditions, with the rising tide potentially improving the sandbanks.
