Surf spot guide Β· Simeulue, Indonesia
Gentle rivermouth left over sand, sheltered by a headland, ideal for beginners on Simeulue's west coast.
Lasikin Rivermouth produces small, forgiving lefts that peel over shifting sandbars in the lee of a large headland. The sheltered position means it rarely gets overhead, and the sand bottom keeps things beginner-friendly with easy takeoffs and slow-to-medium speed walls suited to learning turns and cutbacks. The rivermouth constantly rearranges the banks, so the quality varies session to session. On bigger S-SW swells, faster beachbreak peaks can light up along the long stretch of sand running north toward Nancala. Incoming tide tends to clean up the shape. The nearby town and airport line the riverbank, and estuary outflow can affect water quality after rain. South of here toward Dylans sits Gila Left in front of the soccer field, a moody wave that rarely delivers. With few surfers around, sessions are typically uncrowded or solo. Free roadside parking and straightforward beach entry make it one of the most accessible spots on the island.
