A short, steep right-hander breaking over a dead coral submerged reef close to shore in the Busung area of Simeulue. The wave needs a substantial W swell or an oversized SW to bend past Pulau Tapah and reach the lineup, which makes it one of the less consistent options in the zone. When it connects, the takeoff is vertical on a shallow, boily reef shelf that produces punchy walls suited to performance surfing rather than barrels. Rides are compact at under 50m, with a medium-speed face that rewards quick, vertical turns. Ghost Island sits in the shadow of the nearby Bay Bombie, its better-known neighbor that picks up more swell angles. The positioning means this wave only switches on during specific swell windows, keeping it effectively empty even by Simeulue standards. The reef is close enough to shore to paddle from the beach, with free roadside parking near Busung village. Incoming tide on the rise is the window, as the dead coral gets too shallow otherwise. On small to mid-range days when the swell direction cooperates, it offers an uncrowded alternative to the busier setups in the area.
