One Pine.

One Pine is a left-hander that wraps around a small island on Simeulue's south coast near Busung. The wave breaks over dead coral reef and needs a substantial SW swell to wrap into the bay, or a straight W swell to penetrate it directly. When conditions align, the reef produces a predictable left with steep takeoffs and several sucky hollow sections as the wave bends around the island. The short ride (under 50m) packs its energy into quick, punchy walls that offer vertical drops and performance surfing with occasional barrel chances. One Pine holds real value as one of the few spots on southern Simeulue that is genuinely offshore in SE tradewinds, making it the go-to option when those conditions lock in alongside a solid swell. The low consistency means it needs patience, only firing when the swell direction and size cooperate. Access is a 300m paddle from the new boat harbour near Busung. Crowds gather when big SW swells combine with SE winds, since the lineup becomes the only sheltered option in the area. Outside those windows, expect a quiet peak with just a handful of surfers.
