A right-hand reef on Simeulue's south coast that offers a rare range of difficulty within one wave. The takeoff zone sits over a rock ledge and sand bottom, and the wave character shifts dramatically depending on where you sit in the lineup. Deeper positions deliver steep, bowly drops into hollow barrel sections, while the shoulder offers more forgiving walls that reform toward the channel, giving less experienced surfers room to work. The reef needs S to SW swell in the 0.3-1.8m range to fire properly. Anything above that and the swell pushes past without engaging the ledge. Westerly wind protection is the best on the south coast, keeping the face clean when other spots get blown out. Incoming tide tends to produce the best shape. Access is straightforward - park a motorbike behind the soccer field for a small fee and paddle out through the channel. Be prepared to cross a river current that gets brown and dirty after rain. The bombie called Thors further outside in the bay serves as a reliable set indicator. Across the channel sits a fun sandbar left that often delivers entertaining waves of its own. Crowds build when the wave turns on, particularly after school lets out in the afternoons. Mornings are your best window for scoring it with fewer people.
