A-Frames is a popular reef break located centrally in the Playgrounds area of the southern Mentawai Islands, Indonesia. The wave offers reliable and versatile peaks that break both left and right, with the left providing longer, more defined rides and the right being shorter and steeper. Surfers can enjoy playful, rippable walls and occasional hollow sections, making it suitable for a variety of surfing styles. The wave works best at mid to high tide on moderate to solid south to southwest swells, with northwest winds offering optimal conditions. The reef is shallow in places, especially at lower tides, so caution is advised. Access is generally by boat, making it popular among surf charters and resorts, and the spot can get crowded during peak season. Surfers are rewarded with warm water and picturesque surroundings.
