Burgerworld is a famous Mentawai surf spot located on the eastern side of Pulau Dodiki, known for its playful, long right-hand waves breaking over a relatively deep and forgiving reef. It works best on small to medium southwest to west swells, producing smooth, manageable walls at waist to head high, while larger swells tend to make the wave slow and fat. The wave offers forgiving sections, making it suitable for intermediate surfers, and still enjoyable for advanced surfers looking for a relaxing session. Access is only by boat, with an easy paddle out, and the spot is popular with charter boats and surf camps. Early mornings generally provide the cleanest conditions, set against a picturesque tropical backdrop with palm-lined beaches.

Wear booties
Head high is the sweet spot, and long-range lines with period in them beat raw size.

Respect locals
It only turns on when the rest of the area is small, so keep it as the small-swell fallback rather than a plan.

Hire local boat
Anything with west in the wind cleans the wall up, which is the opposite of what most of the Playgrounds wants.

It is a 35-minute boat ride from the Kandui side of the Playgrounds, so commit to the trip rather than checking it on the way past.

HAZARDS · KNOW BEFORE YOU PADDLE

The inside reef gets shallow through the lower half of the tide, and dead low needs real care.
Reef cuts go septic fast in warm water, so treat them the day you get them.
It is a remote, boat-access-only reef with no shore facilities and no quick way out.
Much over head high it fattens out and the sections merge or run away, so bigger swell is not better here.
