Promises is a fast, barreling right-breaking reef wave in Playgrounds, near Burgerworld beyond Ngiau. It runs over live coral and finishes on extremely shallow, unforgiving reef, with the reef close to the fins. This serious tube-riding wave is reserved for highly skilled surfers, not beginners or ordinary intermediates. It favors South-to-West swell, west wind, and high tide. The remote outer-reef setting is far from inhabited areas and is rarely crowded.
