Long wrapping left point on the northeast lava coast of Lanzarote, the island's longest ride when a clean N swell lines up.
Jameos Del Agua is a left point peeling along an uneven volcanic reef on the northeast tip of Lanzarote, wrapping N swells around the headland into long, sectioned walls of 200 to 500m. The wave runs medium-paced with slopey shoulders rather than raw power, but on classic clean days it strings together more turns than anything else on the island. A heavier right shows at the very end of the point on the biggest, cleanest swells. Higher tides smooth out the reef and give the longest rides; lower water exposes rocky fingers over the volcanic ledges. The break sits below the Jameos del Agua lava-tube tourist site engineered by Cesar Manrique, with the lineup visible from the cliffs above. It often stays surfable in the strong N winds that blow out the rest of the island, which pulls a crowd, though the wave's length spreads everyone down the point. Access is via the cliff-side car park at the visitor centre, then a walk down to the reef.
