Caleta de Famara is a heavy left that wraps onto a shallow uneven-reef ledge tucked at the southern end of the Famara bay, distinct from the long sand beach in front of the village. The wave breaks square and bowly with hollow, fast sections and the occasional airdrop takeoff, demanding a clean W to NW swell to line up properly. It rarely turns on, and when it does the window is narrow: mid to high tide on an incoming push, with anything below mid exposing the reef and sharp boils. A southerly offshore grooms the face. The 100-200m ride sits a short paddle from La Caleta village, with roadside parking and a walk-in entry over the rocks once the swell direction allows safe access. Numbers stay tight because of the seriousness of the wave and a tight resident crew. Easier alternatives sit close by at San Juan, Playa de Famara and the Caleta de Caballo bays.
