Caleta de Caballo Izquierda is a left-hander breaking over an uneven, urchin-covered reef on the west side of the small bay fronting the village of Caleta de Caballo. The wave runs medium-paced with steep, vertical takeoffs and a flat-spot section in the middle, where a shallow rock regularly surfaces and forces a quick line adjustment. By Lanzarote standards the ride is unremarkable, and most travelling surfers skip it for the heavier reefs at La Santa, El Quemao and Morro Negro a few kilometres south. It earns its place when W winds shut those marquee breaks down: locals slide over to this corner, the lineup gets thick fast, and the wave starts to feel territorial. NW to N swell on a rising to high tide with a SW offshore is the working window, with rides typically running 50 to 100 metres along the reef. Roadside parking sits right above the break with a short walk-in to the water.
