El Complejo, also known as Boca del Abajo or The Complex, sits on the La Isleta side of La Santa next to the sports complex. It is a long, powerful left peeling over uneven reef with bowly, wrapping take-offs and tubular sections that link up on the right swell. The wave runs fast and hollow, boils through the inside, and holds well overhead size that often looks deceptively small from the beach when nobody is out. A clean W to NW swell is essential to load the reef, and offshore SE wind grooms the faces, so the spot does not break often. Paddle-out is straightforward from the small beach beside the break, but every section sits over shallow reef and boulders, so making the wave is non-negotiable. Locals know the lineup well and the heavy nature of the wave keeps numbers honest, with neighbouring La Santa Izquierda, El Quemao and Morro Negro absorbing most of the visiting crowd.
