Powerful, multi-peaked beach break with lefts and rights on Portugal’s exposed northern coast.
Praia da Arda is a long sandy beach break with multiple peaks producing both lefts and rights. It handles small surf below 1 metre but becomes heavy and powerful as swell increases, holding waves above 2 metres. Beginners can use the beach for instruction in small, manageable conditions, while larger surf is better suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The wave is most exposed to west and northwest swells, with the best conditions generally found around low to incoming tide. Tide performance varies, and high tide can produce fewer, irregular peaks.
