Tamariz is a compact urban bathing beach with a short, rock-influenced surf break in Estoril. It is frequently flat because the sheltered beach blocks much Atlantic swell. The left is a short, fast, hollow wave over sand and rock, while a right-hand section can lead into rocks. West to southwest swell and north winds provide the most favorable setup. The break can work around rising, high and falling tides, with spring performing best statistically despite generally small conditions.
