Sipika is a right-hand reef break off Pulau Sipika in the outer Telo Islands, breaking over dead coral along a reef track that stretches 200-500m when the swell aligns. The wave demands a steep, committed entry: a thick, fast barrel that stays open the whole length of the wall, grinding over a well-covered reef in deep water before the drop-off into blue. It only begins to show its character above 2.4m on the outer reef; below that the inside section is essentially unsurfable. When a grand swell meets a N wind, the tube becomes open. A high-line approach is required to stay in the tube through the run. Access is exclusively by boat; the break is about two minutes from the Sipika Island lodge. Crowds are reported as low.
