The Wall.

A long right breaking over a raised dead coral shelf, The Wall delivers several hundred metres of fast, walling face when a solid SW swell lines up. The wave builds speed down the reef, offering a performance canvas of steep open walls with hollow sections where the reef gets shallower. On a pure SW, the right can link through into the inside section at Scorpion Bay, where a few lefts also peel off. Due south swells are less cooperative, producing close-out sections where the wave breaks wide, fat, and disorganised across the reef. The first section along the straight reef before it bends into the bay throws the steepest lip with a vertical takeoff, but it is short and the reef rises fast underneath. Mid-tide is critical here, as low tide exposes too much coral and high tide drowns the shape. Reaching the lineup involves a solid paddle from a hidden bay tucked behind the headland. Take the narrow bike path off the coast road after it turns inland, passing the old wall that gives the spot its name. Crowd pressure is almost nonexistent given the remote location, but the handful of surf charters working Simeulue's coast will hit it when the swell is right.
