Buitan.

Located on Bali's less-traveled east coast between Padangbai and Candidasa, Buitan features playful right-hand reef breaks with occasional lefts that break over a rocky bottom. The waves range from 50 to 150 meters in length and work best with a solid southwest swell and light northeast winds, delivering long, rippable walls suited to confident intermediates and up. The reef is mostly flat but can be sharp at low tide, so booties are recommended for protection. Tides have little effect on wave quality, allowing for good surf at any time. Crowds are generally light compared to Bali's main spots, though weekends can see more surfers. Access is via a track near the Royal Bali Hotel, and visitors should respect the small local surf community. The area is scenic and less developed, featuring black sand beaches and local warungs nearby. Best surfed on mid to high tide for safety and performance.
