Pors-ar-Vag.

Pors-ar-Vag is a sheltered sandy beachbreak in the Lestrevet area of Brittany, producing a-frame peaks that are characteristically fat, crumbly and forgiving. The wave backs off readily and lacks punch, making it unsuitable for surfers seeking performance sections but ideal for those learning to read and ride. Wave faces rarely exceed 1.8m even on the best swells, and rides are short - typically under 50 metres. It responds to SW through NW swells, with due west being the optimal direction, and the incoming tide through to high water is when the banks are most cooperative. An easterly wind cleans up the surface. The spot sits in Lestrevet, somewhat off the beaten track and not immediately obvious on a first visit - allow extra time to locate it. Once found, the free car park makes return trips straightforward. The neighbouring spot Le Ris offers a similarly mellow alternative when SW storms are running, benefiting from cliff protection on its southern flank. Crowds are rarely an issue here; the combination of modest wave quality and the effort required to find the place keeps numbers low. No significant hazards are present, and the absence of reef or strong currents makes it a safe environment for less experienced surfers.
