Surf spot guide · Southwest Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka
A fast, hollow reef peak at Rams, for expert surfers only.
Rams is a short, fast reef break with hollow barrels and a powerful peak. Both lefts and rights can offer thrilling rides, but the shallow reef and quick drop-offs make it only suitable for experienced surfers. The wave can pinch and close out quickly, so confidence in barrels is essential. Paddle out is easy from the roadside, and the Blue Porch restaurant nearby is perfect for post-surf meals. Crowds are rare, but only experts should attempt this wave.
Shallow reef that pinches fast: barrels for the confident, closeouts for the careless.
