Surf spot guide · Southwest Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka
Multiple peaks at Plantation with rights and lefts, best for intermediates; can get crowded.
High Waves
Large waves up to 2.3m expected at Plantation. Peak conditions around 9:00 PM.
Exercise extreme caution when entering the water. Strong currents and large waves present. Warning valid until 9:00 PM.
Plantation has several peaks around the rocky outcrop, with waves changing depending on sand build-up. Rights can sometimes run from the rocks to the inside, while the main A-frame offers righthanders or easier lefts into the channel. Intermediates can enjoy the ride, but beginners and improvers should be careful. The lineup gets busy from sunrise, and paddling out between the two rocky points is recommended.
Shallow A-frame where sand migrations reshape the peaks between swells.
