Fun, consistent a-frame reef peak in front of Hotel Conquistador, Las Americas, with lefts running longer over the uneven reef.
El Conquistador is a submerged reef break sitting directly in front of the Hotel Conquistador along the Las Americas seafront in southern Tenerife. The wave forms as an a-frame peak over an uneven reef bottom, throwing up both lefts and rights that run 50 to 100 metres at medium pace. The lefts are consistently longer and more defined, peeling into well-covered walls with backing-off sections and occasional slopey, steep faces that reward vertical surfing. Righthanders are shorter but equally accessible. The break fires best on a SE to NW swell in the 0.3 to 3 metre range, with an easterly offshore holding conditions tidy throughout the day. Low to rising tide tends to produce the most organised banks, while a falling tide can still deliver workable waves before the reef becomes noticeably shallower in spots.

Always crowded. The wave suits improvers and intermediates and sits in front of major tourist hotels, drawing a near-constant lineup of visitors and surf-school groups. Locals largely avoid it in favour of neighbouring breaks.
