El Comedor.

El Comedor is a boulder-reef break on the northeast shore of Gran Canaria that delivers slopey, medium-paced left and right peaks when a north swell fills in. The break sits in a cluster of spots stretching from Los Enanos to the east through Boquines to the west, but El Comedor occupies its own clearly defined takeoff zone over a well-covered boulder bottom. Waves peak up with slopey walls and the occasional steeper section, welling up cleanly on the right swell angle rather than throwing hollow. Performance surfing is the primary mode - boards with volume help extract the most from the crumbly faces. North swells align best, though the wide swell window from west to east means the spot picks up any passing energy. The critical rule is tidal: high tide drowns the boulders and kills the shape entirely, so sessions must be timed around low to mid tide. A southerly wind blows offshore and cleans up the faces. The surrounding environment is scenic, with good water quality, though urchins hiding among the boulders make booties essential. Facilities are absent at the break itself.
