Pescadore is a short, violent lefthand barrel detonating over a supershallow uneven reef inside the Ponta Negra headland on Terceira. The wave jacks off a wedging section beside a large exposed rock, pitching a fast, hollow tube up to 50m before shutting down on the inside. Takeoff is critical: the reef stays supershallow throughout, with boiling sections making wipeouts hazardous. It needs a solid long-period NW swell to wrap around the headland and lock onto the reef -- shorter-period swells miss or arrive walled. Northwesterly winds are offshore. Access is from the road above Porto Martins, with free carpark and roadside options; the paddle-out requires timing the surge around the inside rock. Less consistent than neighbouring Ponta Negra or Sao Fernando, but the local crew fills the lineup fast when it fires. Outsiders face a territorial reception -- observe the hierarchy from the clifftop first, give priority without hesitation, and treat early sessions as introduction-only.

Road access from Porto Martins with free car park and roadside parking. Entry via rock ledge at the base of the headland -- timing required to avoid surge. No lifeguard, restrooms, showers, surf school or surf shop at the break.
