Rare, hollow left breaking over a shallow rock shelf beside Praia do Sul’s southern pier.
Papuços is a hollow, fast left breaking over a flat rock and reef shelf beside Praia do Sul’s southern concrete pier. West to southwest swell wraps around the southern breakwater, creating steep barrel sections and rides reaching roughly 100 metres. It needs substantial swell, beginning around 1.5-2 metres, and is rarely on. East winds and a mid or rising tide offer the most supported setup. The take-off beside the rocks and pier is tricky, making this an advanced paddle wave, with rips developing when the surf is bigger.
