The wave offers steep drops and fast, draining barrel sections over a shallow, sharp reef ledge, making it heavier and more intense than nearby breaks. Late takeoffs and an inside section that can pinch or shut down depending on the swell angle add to the wave's complexity. Access can be difficult, particularly at low tide, and the hazardous reef conditions mean this spot is recommended only for experienced surfers. Local warungs nearby provide food and shade, but due to its remote location and demanding nature, crowds remain moderate. Always check tide and swell conditions before heading out.

Remote and intense
This is the most fickle wave in the area: it needs a big, west-heavy swell and a high tide, and surf guides record it breaking only about five days a year.
Local surfers and the Kertasari surf operators call this wave Limestones, so ask for it by that name.
Mangrove is the gentler left in the same bay and has a channel at the end of the wave that makes the paddle back out much easier.
It is a long, rough drive up the west coast from the Maluk and Scar Reef side of West Sumbawa, and the break is hard to find.
