Bintangs is a high-quality right-hand reef break located on the southern end of Sipora Island in the central Mentawai Islands of Indonesia. The wave features a slabby take-off, a barrel section, and a bowly wall ideal for carving, breaking over a shallow coral reef. Best surfed during mid to high tides, it lights up with south to southwest swells and is cleaned up by northerly winds. Access is by boat only, on the remote side of the bay opposite Katiet, a five-minute crossing from the accommodation in front of Lance's Left. Bintangs is less crowded than nearby world-famous breaks, offering a more relaxed session. Surfers should be cautious of the shallow reef, occasional currents, and the remote location, ensuring proper preparation before heading out.

Bintangs is the spot to check when the north wind blows out the rest of the Mentawais, and it is a five-minute boat ride straight across the channel from Lance's Left.
There is no nasty inside section here of the kind that catches people out at HT's, which is part of why it suits confident intermediates.
It tends to max out when the more exposed breaks nearby are at their peak, so look at it on the mid-sized days rather than the biggest ones.
Expect a longer, more forgiving shoulder on higher tides and average swell, and a sharper barrel off the drop when there is less water on the reef.
There is a beach break deep in the bay between Bintangs and Lance's Left that is worth a session when you want to escape the crowds entirely.
