Le Dossen.

Le Dossen is a wide, open sandy beach near the village of Dossen, just south of Roscoff in northern Brittany. The break produces soft, crumbly a-frame peaks spread across the full length of the beach, running at medium to slow speed over a well-covered sandy bottom with flat spots — a forgiving wave with little consequence, built for longboarders and novices rather than performance surfing. The beach is heavily exposed to the prevailing westerlies, and when wind picks up it deteriorates rapidly into sloppy, disorganised surf. The rivermouth section on the southern end offers more shape and protection, working best at lower tides when the sandbanks focus the swell into something more rideable. The open central section produces gentler high-tide rollers that suit beginners and longboards. Best conditions arrive on solid W to NW swells with a SE wind holding it clean. The spot sits across the water from l'Ile de Sieck, which acts as a partial buffer but not enough to tame a strong onshore. Crowds spread naturally across the length of the beach, preventing any real density, and the mix of longboarders and learners keeps the vibe relaxed. Land yachting is popular on the same beach — keep an eye on the shore zone during low tide sessions.
