On those days it produces hollow, punchy peaks across the sand bottom that can genuinely surprise visitors expecting a tame town beach. The break works across all tide stages, which gives it an edge in terms of daily windows, though the wave shape and power shift considerably through the cycle. An outside reef sits beyond the main beach zone and rears up rights when solid swell pushes through, adding a more demanding option for those willing to paddle the extra distance. To the east, the small pocket beach of Pors Nevez shelters a right-hander that breaks over a mixed rock and sand bottom - it needs more south in the wind to clean up and performs best from low to mid tide. Because this is a city beach with easy access, crowds build quickly whenever conditions improve, particularly on weekends and during summer. Perros-Guirec locals know the spot well and tend to fill the lineup fast on the better days. The beachbreak nature means peak position shifts constantly, so watching from the shore before committing to a paddle-out is time well spent.
