Pors-Ar-Villec.

Pors-Ar-Villec, locally known as Porza, is a peaks-style break sitting over a mixed base of uneven reef and sand in the Locquirec bay on Brittany's north coast. At size, incoming NW swell drives steep, hollow lefts and rights with a punchy character - the sand-covered reef produces waves that stand up quickly, with boils hinting at the shallower sections beneath. The wave length tops out around 50 meters, so rides are punchy rather than drawn-out. When conditions are small and a southerly wind grooms the surface, the spot softens into peeling, slower waves more suited to longboarding. It works best from mid to high tide on the push - low tide exposes the reef and makes the inside technical. Porza is the standout break in the Locquirec area for raw consistency, reliably picking up swells that miss more sheltered spots nearby. A free carpark sits close to the break, making access straightforward, though the paddle-out requires care given submerged rock sections that remain present even at higher water. The spot draws a regular local crew and the atmosphere reflects that - the crowd is a persistent feature and the territorial dynamic is well-established. When Porza is busy or the angle is off, Sables Blancs to the west offers an alternative, with its own outside reef producing rights at low tide in solid swell. The sheltered bays of Moulin de la Rive and Poul Rodou further west provide refuge when SW winds turn conditions choppy at Porza.
