Le VVF sits at the southern edge of Anglet's long beach corridor, where the last jetty gives way to a half-kilometre of open sand below a lighthouse-topped cliff. The break produces sucky A-frame peaks across a range of sandbars, from short punchy walls to longer lined-up sections that can reel through the tide. At its best it throws up genuinely hollow, fast-moving waves - the shape data confirms steep, hollow faces - and it handles swell from 0.3m up to around 3m without closing out completely. W to NW swell windows are optimal, with the NW angle typically producing the most defined peak at the short jetty on the left end. Southerly winds offer clean protection thanks to the cliff and the lay of the beach, making SE the standout offshore. All tide stages are viable, though the bunker relic beneath the surface demands awareness at lower water. Also known locally as Chambre d'Amour, the spot carries a strong identity separate from the more northerly Anglet breaks. That identity comes with a territorial edge - localism here runs notably strong, and unfamiliar surfers are advised to read the lineup before paddling out. Crowds consistently sit in the highest bracket year-round. Entry is straightforward from the Promenade de la Chambre d'Amour, with parking at either end of the promenade or along Promenade des Sources behind the VVF Belambra buildings.
