Le Club is one of the most productive and reliable sections of the long Anglet beachfront, producing quality peaks that interact with both a short and a long jetty to generate defined, bowly rights alongside more variable lefts. The sandy bottom shifts with the swell, but when the banks are aligned with a NW swell the spot rewards with genuine tube sections - particularly in the high-tide shorebreak that is a favourite among bodyboarders. At that same tide, backwash rebounding off the beach can complicate takeoffs on bigger sets. Paddling channels tend to form beside the jetties, offering a manageable route out for experienced surfers, though anyone struggling above head-high should look elsewhere. The spot works across all tides, giving it exceptional continuity through the day. The Anglet Surf Club sits directly opposite and runs a live webcam, which combined with a contest history and prime Basque Country location keeps the lineup densely populated year-round. Summer crowds are intense and parking in the surrounding streets becomes genuinely difficult. A strong local contingent maintains a territorial attitude in the water. Estuarine influence nearby can affect water quality following significant rainfall.
