Lusty Glaze breaks inside a secluded, cliff-backed cove on Newquay's north-facing stretch of coastline, throwing up forgiving a-frame peaks over a clean sand bottom. The wave is at its best on small to mid-size SW through NW swells, holding shape from roughly 0.6 to 1.8m before closing out, with an offshore easterly tidying up the faces. Rides run short, in the 50 to 100m range, favouring a smooth wall rather than heavy barrels, which makes this one of Newquay's most reliable learner and progression spots. It is also known nationally as the home of the long-running night-surf event, lit from the clifftop for an after-dark contest. Access is down a steep path from a small clifftop car park into the private cove, and the lineup works best from low into the push. Crowds are moderate by Newquay standards, and when Fistral is maxing or blown out this sheltered corner often still holds a session.
