La Cicer.

La Cicer sits at the southern tip of Las Canteras beach in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, making it the most accessible and consistently surfed break in the archipelago. Multiple named peaks stretch along the sand, including El Piti Point, El Bufo and Los Muellitos, each offering bowly, steep-faced a-frames with a medium-speed wall that rewards both carving and aerial surfing. The wave wraps well in a northwesterly groundswell, producing rides of 50 to 100 metres on good days. NW swells in the 0.9 to 3.0 metre range fire the spot at any tide, though the incoming tide tends to tighten up the banks. A southerly wind blows offshore, which coincides neatly with the trade-wind pattern and keeps surfaces clean for long stretches of the year. The urban setting means the water quality can dip after heavy rain, when stormwater pipes dump directly into the break, so post-rain sessions are best avoided. Regeneration of the surrounding neighbourhood has improved the vibe on the promenade, and a surf school, surf shop, showers and lifeguard all sit within easy reach.
