Nemiña is a west-facing sand-bottom beachbreak on the Costa da Morte in Galicia, sitting at a natural rivermouth where the Ria de Lires meets the Atlantic. The beach offers multiple shifting peaks across its length, all working at any tide, making it one of the more reliable beachbreaks on this stretch of coastline. Waves are hollow and fast by Galician beachbreak standards, with vertical takeoffs on the better sets and a notably quick left that peels along the rivermouth channel at the southern end. Wave length runs between 50 and 100 metres on a solid swell. Best conditions arrive with SW to W swells in the 1 to 2.5 metre range and a light NE offshore wind. The spot comes alive in autumn and winter when Atlantic groundswells push through regularly, but spring can also deliver quality windows. The surrounding environment is picturesque and remote, with camping available nearby and free parking, though basic in terms of infrastructure. The Prestige oil tanker disaster of 2002 affected this coastline, and residual oil can occasionally surface after storms.
