Playa de Pared.

Playa de Pared is a sand-bottom beachbreak on the undeveloped southwest coast of Fuerteventura, tucked away from the main resort belt and best reached via a short walk from the clifftop car pull-out near the La Pared information sign. The beach faces northwest and picks up any NW groundswell that wraps into this stretch of coastline, producing shifting left and right peaks that tend to run fat and sloppy with occasional wedging sections where sandbars concentrate the energy. Waves are medium-paced to slow, with a cutback-friendly open face rather than a hollow or barrelling shape. At 50 to 100 metres in length, rides are long enough for progressive surfing but rarely critical. The break works across all tides in theory, though the incoming tide smooths out the banks and reduces the backwash that can make the shorebreak unpredictable at low water. A south-easterly offshore keeps faces clean in the mornings before the north wind fills in and closes out the peaks, making a dawn session the standard approach here.
