Remote southern-tip reef complex delivering two 300m-plus rights and a left on rare NW swells in front of a lighthouse.
Punta del Tigre sits at the extreme southern tip of Fuerteventura, a cluster of west-facing reefs breaking over shallow, uneven rock in front of a working lighthouse. On a solid NW swell with SE winds cleaning the faces, the main right unloads across 300 meters or more - fast, vertical takeoffs giving way to walling sections that barrel through the shallower inside. A second long right runs parallel, and a sketchier left fills out the lineup when the swell angle favors it. The lighthouse reef adds another dimension: a shallow, fast-hollow peak that bodyboarders target in NW swells with N winds, throwing quick barrel sections over the shallowest section of the reef. None of these waves work often - consistency is low, and only a genuine NW ground swell pushes enough water around the headland geometry to get them going. Access requires a long drive down a dirt track from Morro Jable at the southern end of the island; the road is rough enough that most visitors plan specifically for this spot rather than stumbling upon it.
