Praia do Pego is an exposed Atlantic beach break over sand, with shifting banks and multiple peaks breaking left and right. It receives both groundswell and windswell, with south swell providing the clearest favorable direction. The break is inconsistent and summer surf is usually small. Sandy-bottom conditions support beginner, intermediate and advanced surfing when conditions are suitable. Tidal conditions include alternating flood and ebb currents across the beach.
