Raglan Indicators.

Raglan Indicators is the outermost and most demanding section of the Raglan point system on New Zealand's west coast - widely regarded as one of the finest left-hand point breaks in the Southern Hemisphere. The wave breaks over a boulder bottom and, on a proper SW swell, offers runs stretching 200 to 500 metres through distinct sections. Outside Indicators picks up the most size and dishes out a heavy, critical takeoff into a genuine barrel. The mid-section softens into performance walls before the Valley section accelerates and hollows again on lower tides, rewarding surfers who can thread the whole ride. On bigger days the wave occasionally links south toward Whale Bay and beyond. The quality is legitimate and consistent, which is remarkable for a point that fires from 0.6m to 4.6m. Entry is via paddle from the lagoon or by walking the rocks and timing a jump - neither option is casual. Parking on Tohora Close is limited. The lineup is unambiguously for experienced surfers: crowds are constant and intense, localism is real, rip currents run through the channel, and submerged boulders punish the unfamiliar. This is not a spot to learn or to test yourself - it's a spot to perform.
