Surf spot guide · Mentawai, Indonesia
Roxie's Right is a remote, powerful right-hand reef break in the southern Mentawai Islands known for long, consistent walls and occasional barrels.
Roxie's Right, also known as Roxy’s Right or Coldsprings, is a rippable right-hand reef break located in a small bay on South Pagai Island in the Mentawai Islands. It delivers fast, hollow rights breaking over a sharp, shallow coral reef, making it a favorite for intermediate and experienced surfers. The wave offers long, powerful walls with playful sections on smaller days and transforms into a barreling machine as the swell increases, especially during mid to high tides with west to southwest swells and easterly winds that keep the face clean. Access involves navigating a keyhole in the reef or paddling from the beach, as the spot is remote and only reachable by boat. Strong currents and the shallow reef present hazards that require caution. Roxie's Right is renowned for its mechanical barrels and long rides, and its secluded setting provides a quieter alternative to the more crowded northern Mentawai breaks. Crowds can build up during peak months, but early mornings often see fewer surfers.
