Pin Rolland is a left-hander that wraps around the Pointe du Marégau, running across a sandy bottom underlaid by a rocky shelf. The wave builds a notably long wall in the 100-200m range, combining a punchy, occasionally hollow character with medium-pace sections that reward committed line-holding. The steeper takeoff gives way to a drawn-out wall with the odd hollow section, making it one of the more interesting waves along this stretch of the Var coast. It operates in the 0.3-1.8m range, needing a SE to SW swell to get moving, with SW the optimal direction. NE winds are the ideal offshore, and SE winds that rotate toward the E provide nearly as good a condition. The core problem is consistency - this break fires rarely, which is both its appeal and its trap. When a swell does arrive, the lineup fills fast with locals who have been waiting weeks for this moment and are not in a welcoming mood. The environment is compact and the territorial dynamic is genuine. Paddling out is manageable from the point, but submerged objects and boils on the inside section require awareness throughout the session. Jellyfish and sea lice are seasonal hazards along this coast. When Pin Rolland is flat, Les Sablettes and Fabregas are functional alternatives within a few kilometres.
