Les Sablettes.

Les Sablettes is a sand-bottom beachbreak sitting on the sheltered coastline near Six-Fours-les-Plages, producing peaks in both directions when southeast swell finds its way into the bay. The waves tend to be well-covered rather than shallow-pitching, with a fat, sloping character and a crumbly face - more forgiving than powerful, and suited to a relaxed session rather than high-performance surfing. Rides are short, typically in the 0-50m range, reflecting the catch-as-catch-can nature of beachbreak peaks in a low-energy sea. The Mediterranean swell window is narrow, so this spot depends on a genuine SE-E fetch to generate anything rideable. When the Mistral blows from the northwest it cleans the peaks up nicely, making it the go-to option for the local Six-Fours crew on those days. Conditions work across all tides given the sandy floor. Entry is straightforward from the beach with no reef or channel complications to navigate. Jellyfish and sea lice are the main seasonal irritants to be aware of. Crowd levels sit at a moderate middle ground - busy when the rare SE swell arrives, quiet the rest of the time. Fabregas, roughly 2km to the southwest, is the alternative locals check on the same swell.
