Punta Mango is a right point that wraps around a remote headland of eastern El Salvador and peels over a cobblestone reef encrusted with barnacles. The wave asks for a solid S or SW swell and fires hardest on the push to high tide, throwing hollow racetrack sections that link into long 200 to 500m rides when the swell is in the head-high to double-overhead range. A fast, vertical take-off drops straight into bowly barrel sections, with boils on the inside and occasional clean-up sets outside that catch surfers too deep. The spot is one of the country's most coveted barrels and a core reason boat fleets run daily out of Las Flores. Access is historically by panga, a roughly 30 minute ride west from El Cuco or Las Flores, though a rough 4x4 track now reaches the point in the dry season. Crowds of boat-trippers, surf-camp guests and visiting La Libertad locals can stack the peak during a good swell.

Most surfers reach the point by panga from Las Flores or El Cuco, a ride of roughly 30 minutes; a rough 4x4 track is usable in the dry season but poor road conditions and theft reports make the boat the safer option. Free roadside and car-park options exist at the drive-in end.
