La Vaca breaks as a short, steep right over a shelf of uneven reef and sand inside a small rocky bay just west of Las Flores. The wave jacks up quickly, running a medium-paced line with the occasional hollow section before closing out over the inside shelf, favoring swells in the 0.6-2m range where it holds shape without sectioning. It acts as a natural pressure valve for Las Flores when the main point slows down at high tide, offering a faster, shorter ride for surfers willing to trade length for punch. Access is straightforward from Las Flores by paddling around the headland into the next bay, and boats heading to Punta Mango and Toro de Oro pass by regularly but rarely stop, leaving the lineup thin. The volcanic rock shoreline is the main deterrent, and that rough entry combined with the shorter ride keeps most of the Las Flores crowd from bothering. Named 'the cow' in Spanish, it rewards patience on bigger days.
