Praia do Peró.

Praia do Peró runs seven kilometers along the coast just north of Cabo Frio's harbor entrance, backed by dunes for all but its southern kilometer of urbanized beachfront. The sandbar throws a fast, hollow wave with real power, and locals point surfers toward two named sections: a right hander off the southern corner where the beach meets Praia das Conchas, and the Meião do Peró, the well regarded peak in the middle of the stretch. It works best on an east swell with a southwest wind holding it up, and the wave holds shape best around low or high tide rather than the shifting mid stages. The beach carries Blue Flag certification for its sand and water quality, which keeps the wider stretch busy with families, though the surf itself concentrates around the two known peaks. Its power and tube sections put it out of range for first timers; intermediate and advanced surfers get the most from it. Praia do Forte, five kilometers south, is the nearest alternative when flat.

Fast, hollow peaks push through the sandbar at the Meião do Peró, the best known break along seven kilometers of dune lined beach.
