A powerful sand-bottom a-frame south of Cabo Frio town, known for hollow peaks on classic swells and strong rip currents.

Praia do Foguete continues the open beach arc from Praia do Forte, running southwest out of central Cabo Frio toward Arraial do Cabo around the fourth kilometre of that coast road. The sand bottom throws an a-frame peak that breaks both ways, turning tubular on classic days when an east swell meets an offshore southwest wind; low tide is the preferred window, and the wave typically runs about 1 to 1.5 metres. It has served as backup venue for the FeSERJ professional tour when the main Praia do Forte stage went flat, a sign the bank here can hold real quality. The same open, exposed setting that draws kitesurfers and windsurfers also makes the water genuinely dangerous: deep, cold currents run in narrow bands, red flags fly often, and swimmers who do not know the beach are warned to stay out when the sea is rough. Roadside parking sits along the Cabo Frio to Arraial road. Crowds stay lighter than the town beaches most of the day, filling in only when wind and swell line up.
