Praia de Unamar.

Praia de Unamar runs about eight kilometers along the Tamoios district at the northern end of Cabo Frio, an open stretch of sand with a calçadão and kiosks along the waterfront. The known surf sits off the Terramar condominium, where locals name two peaks, the Pico da Valinha and the Pico Trikilhas, and where the Valinha Surf Clube runs lessons and board storage on the beach. The sandbars deliver lefts and rights of moderate power that work through every tide and start breaking from a little over half a meter of swell. The coastline here faces the open Atlantic to the east southeast, so the spot feeds on east and northeast swell with a southwest wind cleaning it up, while the south swells that power Cabo Frio's town beaches arrive at an angle and land softer. It is a friendly, unhurried wave rather than a performance one, best suited to beginners and improving surfers, and the beach has real surf history: Unamar hosted rounds of the Cabo Frio municipal circuit back in 2005, and the regional Talentos do Surf circuit staged a 2025 round on the Terramar stretch.
