Smith Point is an Atlantic-facing sand-bottom beach break with shifting sandbars and A-frame peaks breaking both left and right. Typical surf is small at 0.3-0.9 m, while shoulder- to head-high conditions provide the more useful range. Southeast swell and northwest winds offer the best setup. Mid tide is preferred, although the break can work through other tide stages. Late summer through fall generally offers the strongest surf, while rips and undertow require caution.
