A boulder-bottom left point tucked into Midshore Bay on the Waipara coast of North Canterbury. The main draw is the point at the northern end of the beach, which produces a steep, hollow left with barrel sections and vertical takeoffs across a shallow, boily boulder shelf. Rides run 100-200m on a good day with fast, punchy walls that reward committed surfing. Below the point, a secondary beachbreak offers peaks with both lefts and rights, though consistency drops off. The wave needs an easterly swell window between NE and S to light up, and only works on high tide - anything else leaves the boulders too exposed. Access is the main filter: a walk through private farmland and down a cliff path keeps crowds to a minimum. Permission from the landowner is expected before crossing. The isolation and difficult entry mean this spot rarely sees more than a handful of surfers, even on the best days. Sharks are a known presence along this stretch of coast, and submerged rocks demand attention on entry and exit.
